Thinking of the contraversy surrounding the publication of the Mahomet cartoons, and having read opinions both for and against their publication, I was thinking today that this situation really highlights the raison d’être of the Living Library. This was a project at the Malmö Public Library in Sweden where they would “lend” people of minority, including Imams, to the public in order to break down barriers and create cross cultural understanding.
Doing a quick superficial search on the Living Library, I came across this great site called Infospeak.org. Here’s what they have to say for themselves:
