Well, after a wonderful 4 month trip in Argentina, I am back in Montreal, which is covered in a good amount of snow. One of the first things I did was to head for the Grande Bibliothèque to get myself a library card. I was happy to see that there was still, after about 8 months of being open, a line-up of at least 15 minutes to get a card. The lobby where all the counters are located was full of people. It felt like the entrance of the main subway station. You could never believe that this was a library. My only disapointment was when I layed eyes on the library card. The “User Number” is actually called the “Client Number”. I asked the person who made me the card why they decided to use that terminology, and he answered “Marketing”. hmmm.
